Bookish Box – June 2015

There is no words that can describe the excitement of unboxing a surprise box for the first time. It gets better when it’s your first box from a company….EVER.

I was so blown away with The Bookish Box by Appraising Pages and I was so excited to be receiving the Flashback Fiction themed box for the month of June, 2015.

The Flashback Fiction box featured goodies from our favorite fiction books that we grew up with. And I have to admit I was very impressed with how many books and fandoms they were able to cram into one little box!

First of all, the box is adorable and it’s so convenient that it fits in mailboxes while still containing so many goodies.

The first item that really took my breath away was the temporary tattoos from GeekTat. I absolutely loved the Alice in Wonderland themed ones that Owlcrate sent out last month and this month’s were just as beautiful. They featured The Giving Tree, Harry Potter and The Perks of Being a Wallflower in a package of four tattoos. They’ve already been turned into bookmarks – hooray!

The next item I grabbed was Trelawney’s Terrible Tea Leaves, another point to the Potterheads. I have never used tea leaves/made tea before but I feel like this is a great pack to try!

A postcard was included made by Ursula Uriarte, and I was blown away with how beautiful the photo was. It featured multiple versions of Alice in Wonderland and a the great quote, “We’re All Mad Here” as well as “Follow the White Rabbit…Down the Rabbit Hole.”

There was also a candle with the scent entitled “Old Books” to play off the theme of classic fiction books and oh my goodness, I’m just going to smell it forever.  It’s delicious.

And the final item is a regular for the Bookish Box – and this was the item I was most excited to receive.  Each month the include a custom T-shirt (either unisex or women’s), and each month it features a different quote from a different book.

This month’s T-shirt I accidentally ordered in the unisex medium and it fit perfect!  To give you a reference I’m 5’4″ and about 125 pounds.

The quote this month was from Twilight, and said “Without the Dark We’d Never See the Stars.”  It was such an adorable color, I was just in love.  I am so grateful to have this shirt as the kick-off to starting my collection of Bookish Box.  I may not have loved the Twilight series but this shirt and quote is so beautiful – how could I possibly complain?

Well, that’s a wrap for the June 2015 Book(ish) Box.  It was an absolutely beautiful, strong start to my subscription journey with them and I’m so excited to get my hands on next months!  I did switch my shirt size to a women’s medium (I would have had it this month but accidentally picked the wrong one), so I’m excited to see how that fits!

I also filmed my unboxing of these goodies – fairly entertaining if I do say so myself.

What do you guys think of all these pretty little goodies?!?!  Fantastic right?  What subscription boxes do you get that you recommend?  Let me know in the comments below!

I just got my first book riot box and didn’t love it. The prior box looked great but the June box wasn’t my favorite. I plan to stick around another box and see if it was just a fluke. Love all your box reviews because I’m trying to decide which other ones I want to try

Thank you so much! I’m sorry to hear about your Book Riot box. I have never heard of that one unfortunately but fingers crossed you enjoy the next one a bit more.

I wrote a post about it on our blog recently. They have a regular box and a young adult box that each ship out once every 3 months. Some past boxes look great. This quarter the theme was technology so not my favorite topic. I’ll have to try some of the ones you just featured 🙂

Oh I hate when it’s a theme you’re not in love with. So far I haven’t had any super disappointing months with either Uppercase or Owlcrate and they’re both monthly which is nice. Can’t complain yet – haha.
