Once Upon a Bookcase has quickly become one of my absolute FAVORITE subscription boxes that I receive and I’m so thrilled that this month’s theme was Harry Potter!
I’m so thrilled to share all the details on these gorgeous items with you!
First this is first, I need to talk about the new packaging. It’s absolutely GORGEOUS. The box is in the shape of the book and the sides even have lines to look like the pages of a book – it’s stunning and I’m so thrilled to have been able to see the change from the old box to this new one.
And then the beautiful box is opened and the first thing on top is the letter. And let me tell you, it is precious. It came in the envelope, just like Harry would have received it, although the calligraphy on the front is beautiful.
Inside on the actual ‘letter’ has on the backside is the list of all the details of the items included (not pictured), and on the front side is the art print of Harry’s glasses/scar and the quote from Albus Dumbledore himself,
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.” – J.K. Rowling
I am in love with these art prints and sincerely hope they continue each month going forward – it’s a great use of the opposite side of the list for the items included.
Underneath the letter was the items! The first one, hiding everything else underneath it, was the winter hat, inspired by the hat Hermione wore in The Prisoner of Azkaban. I absolutely love it and it’s so well made! Such a great treat (especially for me in the bitter New England winters.)
Next up, there were two pieces of HP inspired jewelry in this month’s box. A Golden Snitch Bracelet (lower right of the photo) and a Lightning Bolt necklace (upper part of the photo on top of the box). I am in love with each equally as much as the other, and am SO thrilled they were included – I can never have too much Fandom inspired jewelry.
Finally, the phone case – and I was 99% certain it was going to be the Marauders Map case that is posted on the Once Upon a Bookcase Instagram all the time, but there was always a chance a new design was being created specifically for this box.
There is absolutely no complaints here – I am in LOVE with it. It’s so perfect and I am thrilled.
The only thing with the case (that hasn’t occurred on the previous ones I’ve received) is the coloring of the ink on the magnetic piece that keeps the case closed is much more faded than the rest of the case. I’m not sure if that was a printing error or is intentional, but the ink on past cases has always been just as dark on the fold over piece as the rest of it. I’ll keep an eye on it and see if it happens to fade more.
Overall, this box was a home run. Not only because I’m a Potterhead but also because the quality of items in addition to the amount of items included in every box is amazing for the price.
So glad to be apart of this amazing subscription!
