Fandom of the Month Club – February 2016

There aren’t many people who don’t adore the classic, Alice in Wonderland so having it as the theme for this month’s Fandom of the Month Club was right on time!

I, like most people, adore most renditions of Alice in Wonderland, including the Disney movies, the books, and more.  Receiving this month’s box was like stepping back into my childhood and falling back in love with Wonderland.

The first item that I saw was the card, featuring Alice falling down the Rabbit Hole, and the Magnet, featuring the Mad Hatter’s Hat.  Both were designed by the Half Blood Prints, but both are well loved and adored by me!

The bag, designed by SandSink made me smile.  Not only has Fandom of the Month Club never done a light purple bag design before but this quote just makes me happy.

And finally the contents inside the bag – the thing everyone’s been waiting for….the jewelry.

This month was a 4 piece month which is AMAZING, and it featured some absolutely stellar pieces.

The first was a teacup ring (pictured at the bottom right above).  This is a pretty big ring, and bulky as well, so for as cute as it is, I’m not going to be wearing it as a ring.  I ended up popping off the ring part and will be threading the handle of the teacup through a chain so I can wear it as a necklace – I adore it, just not for it’s original purpose.  But I still get to wear it!

The next item was the White Rabbit Bracelet which is a bit big for my smaller wrists, but bent the right way actually fits pretty well.  I love the detailing on the band and the old style artwork of the rabbit in the photo, though I’m not sure how frequently I’ll wear something so pretty!

The next item (and probably my favorite) was the necklace.  It’s very long, and features quite a few Alice related charms, including a rose, teapot, clock, heart, key and a ‘Drink Me’ bottle.

I love the burnished gold look of the necklace and adore longer pendants as they look great with the plainest of clothing – I’ve already worn this twice and I’ve only owned it for 3 days!

And finally, the earrings.  I love when these little bubble studs are the earring choice of the month, and these are no exception.  They’re silver with the image being a plain white background with the words “We’re All Mad Here” written in black across it.

I definitely adore 2 out of the 4 pieces and will wear them regularly.  The ring I will absolutely get more use out of as a necklace and unfortunately I’m not sure how much use I’ll get with the bracelet, no matter how pretty it may be.

That being said, I’m super in love with the bag, card and magnet this month so I’ll give it an 8/10 rating.  Such a gorgeous month!

I cannot wait for next month’s box (it’s Marvel/Avengers themed!) so I definitely recommend you check it out!  For only $13 per month plus shipping, it can’t be beat!

I have been thinking of getting this for a while and the Alice in Wonderland goodies have tipped me over the edge! Unfortunately they’re sold out so I’ve signed onto the waiting list.

Just wondering how you know next month is Marvel/Avengers? I keep tabs on their facebook/instagram, but haven’t seen any mention of the next theme.

There’s another page called the Fandom of the Month Club BST (buy, sell, trade). There’s a lot of people there (including Erin, the owner of FotM!) and they share tidbits of information. It’s also amazing because people will sell things from old boxes, so if you missed something, you still have a chance to grab it for a reasonable price!

What’s your name? If you want to join, I’ll invite you/let the admin know to add you to the group. People sell the entire boxes for 16 dollars (not allowed to go above the original sale price!) And there are a lot of Alice boxes currently up for grabs!
