Nerdy Thoughts (Every Fandom) Pins – August 2016

As an avid Disney Pin trader, I absolutely had to try this new subscription box by The Sorcerer’s Phone, titled Nerdy Thoughts, Every Fandom Pins (as in Bertie Botts, Every Flavor Beans – how cute is that?!).  I am so eager to check out this new Disney/Fandom crossover box and share it with all of you!

So like the disney pins, each box will include 2, custom made and designed pins featuring something Disney-esque and fandom.  Each month will be a unique crossover between the two universes and I am so eager to see what unique pieces they come up with!

At $55 per month, this is not a box for the faint of heart.  However, if you do discover that a box is featuring a fandom you’re a massive fan of, you might want to scoop it up as these pins will NEVER be available for purchase other than through this subscription.

This first month was a crossover between one of my absolute favorite Disney rides, The Haunted Mansion and my absolute favorite fandom ever, Harry Potter!  I was so excited to see what they ended up doing with these two fandoms and I was absolutely not disappointed.

The first pin this month was a 1/4 collection, featuring the four colors of the Hogwarts Houses.  This featured a look similar to a gravestone you’d find in the queue while waiting in line for the Haunted Mansion at the parks, and is also in the same style as the overall logo of the Haunted Mansion.

I originally received a yellow (Hufflepuff) version of this pin and I did everything in my power to find SOMEONE who received a Ravenclaw but wanted a Hufflepuff instead.  Nerdy Thoughts has a trade group on Facebook for people looking for other versions of the pins/trading older for newer ones.  I was so excited to find my Ravenclaw and be able to give my Hufflepuff to someone dying for it!  Such a great feeling (and also super stressful at the same time).

Before moving on to the next pin, I also want to mention that the detailing in these pins are incredible.  They’re not tiny, they’re typically about 2 inch pins, and they are all labeled on the back with which box these came from (this one was called Haunted Hogwarts), and also gives you the number created.  This one was a Limited Edition print of 75, and it was number 1 of 4 options available.

The next pin was even bigger than the gravestone pin, and featured the silhouette of the Hogwarts Castle, along with Moaning Myrtle, Nearly Headless Nick and the Fat Friar with their thumbs sideways (i.e. the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion).  This pin was so incredibly creative and possibly the greatest crossover I could have imagined.  I am obsessed.  What’s even better is the pin is painted with glow-in-the-dark enamel!  YAY!

These pins are absolutely stunning.  I am overwhelmed at the quality and the exclusivity of these.  I feel as though I’m a part of some sort of secret club!

I’m absolutely going to be grabbing more of these in the future, as this box creates items that will never be found anywhere else!  I am so excited to see what else they come up with and wish this box the very best of luck!

To grab a future Nerdy Thoughts, Every Fandom Pins box, head over to their website and grab one!  Spots are VERY limited for this box, so don’t miss out!
