Half Blood Prints Monthly has officially outdone themselves – they’ve got me hook, line and sinker for their beautiful Harry Potter series, stage one!
Half Blood Prints Monthly recently announced that they are hoping to theme a month around each of the seven Harry Potter books. September was The Sorcerer’s Stone and oh. my. gosh. It’s everything I hoped it would be!
I actually cancelled my Half Blood Prints subscription in April, simply because I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the art prints. At that point, I didn’t have an apartment and I didn’t have anywhere to put them except a box – and I can’t enjoy it when it’s in a box.
I’ve since moved into an apartment and have TONS of wall space, so I had plenty of room to hang up my HP treasures – including this one! I had to sign back up to grab this. This was also my first month trying the Premium option as well!
First of all, the art print. I have to talk about this first. Oh my goodness. It incorporates so much from the first book, from Platform 9 3/4, to the mirror, the sorting hat, the flying keys, the castle itself, and so much more. I notice new things every time I glance at it.
The quote however, is not one that you’ll find commonly used in much and I think that might be the key as to why I adore it so much.
“He couldn’t know that at that very moment, people meeting in secret all over the country were holding up their glasses and saying in hushed voices, ‘To Harry Potter, the Boy who Lived!'”
It was absolutely perfect in every way and I’m so pleased to not see another typical Dumbledore quote or something said that is so frequently seen. This just makes me happy. Can you tell?
The sticker this month was a Platform 9 3/4 train ticket – perfect for bumper stickers/laptops/what have you. I am saving mine until I know right where to put it – can’t imagine wasting it.
Also included was of course, the monthly magnet calendar. The October artwork featured Harry’s letter and the seal of Hogwarts Castle – it’s so simplistic but so beautiful, down to the last detail.
Finally, for basic inclusions, the bookmark! The front features a sliver of the book cover while the back it reads:
“There are some things you can’t share without ending up liking each other.”
Another unique quote from the book and the perfect piece to tie it all together.
Finally, the tee! This was my first month receiving a tee shirt from Half Blood Prints and the quality is SUPERB. It’s incredibly soft and not a solid color, but has more of a feathered, antique look to it. It’s absolutely beautiful and here is where we get more classic with the quotes, reading:
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
This one, I’m happy with however. If I’m going to wear my Harry Potter tee out and about I want people to get it. My art prints are mine and I get them and that’s all that matters within my own home.
This box was stunning. No. Stunning is an understatement. I was so beyond happy with every detail this box came with, I am so eager to obtain the other six (though apparently they’re being spaced out so who knows when that’ll happen!)
It’s going to be a beautiful collection when complete, so I can’t tell you enough to not miss any more of these beautiful boxes!
