Authored Adornments Box – October 2016

This is the first month of the stunning Authored Adornments Box and I feel so incredibly lucky to have been able to receive one of the Edgar Allen Poe inspired beauties!

A bit of background, I have been a massive fan of Authored Adornments Etsy page for at least a year now.  I’ve bought during her sales, I’ve grabbed some pieces off her main page but this subscription box was a dream come true.

Each month, boxes include two, handmade pieces by Authored Adornments, an additional full-sized item by another small business, an art print by Copper Kettle Co, and a sample of either coffee or tea, flavors vary depending on the month.  These boxes include items that a book nerd like me goes GAGA over, so I’m thrilled to be able to be receiving these boxes.

The first item was a round, vintage inspired necklace from Authored Adornments featuring the quote:
“And all I loved.  I loved alone.”
Each of the selected quotes in all of Authored Adornments pieces are always so lovely and well placed within the jewelry, but this one has to be one of my all time favorites of any of the pieces I’ve gotten from her.  I am incredibly pleased with with simplicity and the beauty of it.

The second piece of jewelry according to the card was a ring but she actually announced on Instagram that there was an issue with the ring so she included a second necklace (with zero complaints from me!)  This one featured the name “Annabel Lee” from Poe’s famous poem, Annabel Lee.
I’m actually don’t have any of the heart shaped pendants she’s done so I’m excited to add it to my collection!  Annabel Lee is one of my all-time favorite poems by Poe, and I am so pleased it was featured!

The additional item this month was by A Rae of Grace by Nina and it was a potato sack towel which read:
“I was never really insane except upon occasions when my heart was touched.”
This is so beautiful, and I hate to admit I haven’t read the piece this quote is from but I’m eager to!  I cannot wait to put this up, but living with my boyfriend in our tiny apartment, I know it’ll get ruined faster than I’d like to admit.  It is currently in a drawer with future home items for when we have a spare bathroom only I use.  😉

Finally, I selected tea this month which was provided by A Quarter to Tea.  The flavor was Amontillado Chai loose leaf tea, and the story A Cask of Amontillado is actually one of my favorites by Poe, so the title is beyond perfect.  It also smells incredible and I’m really excited to try it!

This whole box was nothing but beautiful and I’m so pleased to have been apart of it.  I am already eagerly awaiting November’s Outlander theme and I cannot WAIT to see what was included!!  Be sure to head over to her Etsy store and grab one before they’re gone!
