Half Blood Prints – February 2017

It was time for Half Blood Prints Monthly to create some more Doctor Who goodies!  But were they a hit or a miss?

Doctor Who was actually the second theme that Half Blood Prints Monthly ever did, however their first two months did not have a shirt option.  Now that they do, they wanted to ensure that all the Whovians who subscribe were about to get an adorable shirt!

Speaking of the shirt, this month’s was a solid blue tee featuring a white Tardis with the words “We’re all stories in the end.  Just make it a good one eh?” which if you watch the show, you know is one of the quotes that sticks with you.  Honestly I felt like it was a little expected.  I wasn’t really impressed by the design even though the quote is one of my absolute favorites.  I feel like a lot more could have been done with this to make it more unique.

The poster this month was a STUNNING dark, night sky looking background with a beautiful script that reads “The deep and lovely dark, we’d never see the stars without it.”  I did have a hard time figuring out what it initially said, but now that I have, I absolutely adore it.

The magnet was a STUNNING watercolor of the Tardis, which is proudly displayed on my fridge.  An absolute top magnet choice that they’ve done so I’m really pleased with this one (and last month’s honestly!  Kudos to HBPM for creating some top notch magnets lately!)

The calender sticker this month featured the artwork of the the 9th, 10th, and 11th doctors, as have been previously done by HBP.  I felt like this was also kind of expected and was hoping for something more unique than this.

And finally the bookmark which was a GREAT concept, with the word Don’t on one side and Blink on the other with two different poses for the angel to be in depending on both sides.  If you watch the show you know how creepily awesome this is!

A bonus item this month was actually a set of adorable Doctor Who stickers that features an array of goodies from the show, quotes and even the doctors themselves.  I love these and hope this continues to be a trend in future boxes!

I felt this month could definitely have been stronger, but I absolutely LOVED the poster, magnet, bookmark and stickers.  Definitely not a weak month, just not one of their best.  Looking forward to my next box and seeing what they do!
