This month’s Nerdy Post was a theme I was waiting for – Disney!
The first item was the poster of course, and this month featured Disney’s newest animated hit, Moana. The background, inspired by Maui’s tattoos, wrapped around the quote:
“There comes a day where you’re gonna look around and realize happiness is where you are.”
I absolutely LOVED all the music from this movie and I was so excited to see this quote included in the box, especially with it being such a new movie!
The next beautiful piece(s) were the mini prints. These 5×7 post cards are always so lovely and this month included 3 unique designs. The first was designed by @allhaildesign who created a stunning rendition of Pocahontas, embodying the ‘Colors of the Wind’ into her portrait. The second mini print, inspired by Rafiki, included the known quote:
“The past can hurt but the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.”
This is probably one of the most well-known quotes from The Lion King and I’m so glad that this classic was included. Finally, the third 5×7 this came from the movie Big Hero 6, and though I haven’t seen the movie yet, I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it and I’m pleased to see it was included as well. The selected quote from Baymax, designed by @alissecourter was:
“Are you satisfied with your care?”
As I said, I’ve never seen this Disney movie, so I’m not sure how this quote was used but the artwork is stunning and it actually makes me want to go see it!
Also included as a bonus this month was a 4×6 art print from The Little Mermaid which features a not so common quote:
“I just don’t see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad.”
This lead in to Ariel’s signature song, “Part of That World”, is such a powerful moment in the movie and as my favorite childhood princess I’m thrilled to have had her be apart of the box.
I was hopeful for a coaster to add to my growing collection from Nerdy Post, but a pocket mirror was included in this box which was inspired by Flynn Rider from Tangled. The mirror features the signature sun design in addition to the words:
“Here comes the smolder”
This is a super cute bonus but I’d honestly have rather it been a coaster – I don’t know that I’ll ever use it as a mirror!
THE WISP STICKER EVERYONE. I honestly feel like Brave is one of the most underrated Disney movies, but it’s one of my absolute favorites. I’m so happy that it was included in this box and such a beautiful design was featured on the sticker this month. The words:
“Change your fate”
are hidden among the wispy design and, as written on the info card are “as though they were being whispered”. I couldn’t have pictured it to be more perfect than how it was designed. So happy with this one!
SO MANY GOODIES IN THIS BOX.
As we keep going, the bookmark finally appeared! The first side features the typical design of the stained glass from Beauty and the Beast with a not so typical quote:
“It’s not right for a woman to read. Pretty soon she gets ideas, starts thinking”
This quote from Gaston is absolutely perfect for a bookmark. I love that it’s in the traditional style! The other side is a Robin Hood (shame on me for never seeing it) design that has simply blown me away!
“Oo de lally, oo de lally, golly what a day”
Scrawled across the back in a beautiful, natural design among leaves and vines. Robin Hood’s hat and arrows are also hidden among the design and is just a stunning addition to the box as a whole.
The magnet this month, featuring the silhouette of Sleeping Beauty and her prince reads:
“Once Upon a Dream”
in a stunning array of swirls and blues.
A new addition this month was the sticker sheet. Holy Disney Quotes! I won’t be quoting them here as there are simply so many, but the range of movies these quotes were pulled from was absolutely lovely, and I’m hopeful that the desire to include so much into one box will be enough to convince Nerdy Post than another Disney box is absolutely needed in the future (fingers crossed for villains!). The sticker sheet includes some wonderful movie quotes, from Princess and the Frog, Mulan, Hercules, Aladdin, Zootopia, and Frozen.
The color-in post card is always a favorite of mine as it brings an interactive element to the box that many boxes don’t offer (at least not on a monthly basis). This month’s was a classic design of the castle behind the words Nerdy Post Card. I definitely love this one and can’t wait to color it in!
And finally, the last item included was a tealight from a company called Wickdom! The scent, called Chapter Three is inspired by Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I thought this was an adorable bonus and something different to be included in the box!
Whew – this month was a massive wonderland of beauty and I am SO beyond thrilled that I got to be apart of it.
