The Bookish Box – June 2017

The June Bookish Box was on I was truly looking forward to – but did it hit its mark or sail past the target?

The Bookish Box this month was themed Fantasy Kingdoms which had me incredibly excited for what may have been my favorite box in a long time from the company!

The first item was a stunning pillowcase designed by Evie Seo, inspired by A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas.  It reads, “And will you come with me?  On this adventure and all the rest.  Always.”  This was a really beautiful pillowcase and I know this book series is super popular, however I haven’t had an opportunity to enjoy it yet so I’m not sure how the quote correlates.  Regardless, I think this is a beautiful piece so I’m excited to show it off!

The next piece was by Authored Adornments, a company that I absolutely adore.  This bookmark, inspired by Game of Thrones, reads “Winter is Coming” which is absolutely perfect to represent the show.  I adore this bookmark and am so glad it was included as it is absolutely perfect for the Fantasy Kingdoms box!

Cherry Pits Crafts included a Sarah J. Maas inspired galaxy lip balm.  Honestly, I’m not a fan of lip balms outside of my go-to ones, so this is likely going to sit in my makeup bin untouched for a while.  But the sentiment was nice.

Finally, a Game of Thrones art print, designed by My Peculiar Life was included.  This is really pretty but the size is quite awkward (almost a perfect square) so I’m not entirely sure how to display it but I do like the design!

As a bonus, I received a galaxy lollipop which was super pretty!  I tried a few licks and honestly wasn’t a big fan but it was a really pretty bonus item that was really cool to look at!

The book this month was Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau and this box also included a signed bookplate from the author.  I’m truly excited about Dividing Eden (it was one of my highly anticipated reads!) so I’m excited to check it out!

Overall, the items this month were a nice quality however I was a little disappointed that the focus was so limited.  There are plenty of Fantasy Kingdoms that could have been featured, however only Sarah J. Maas’ and Game of Thrones were included.  I wish the items had been a bit more diversified but it was still quite a nice array of goodies!

If you’d like to give The Bookish Box a try, head to their website and check them out!
