Nerdy Post – June 2017

This June is the one year anniversary for Nerdy Post and to celebrate, they included an array of fandoms within one box!  So excited to dive into these contents with you all and share what was included!

The first item this month was the art print, featuring a quote from Firefly.  Though not my fandom, this quote was a stunning piece which my boyfriend (who LOVES Firefly) absolutely fell in love with.  It reads “When you can’t run you crawl and when you can’t do that you find someone to carry you.”  This was a beautiful piece of artwork, written in a thought bubble over the silhouette of two people.  Definitely framing this one!

The next piece was the first of 3 mini prints, which also doubled as the information card.  This quote, said by Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones was a beautiful addition to this month’s box, reading “One more book then I’ll stop.  One more page.  But there was always another page after that one and another after that and another book waiting underneath the pile.  I’ll just take a quick peek to see what this one is about, he’d think and before he knew it, he’d be halfway through it.”  It took me a while to figure out how to read this piece but once I did, it has become a favorite mini print of mine.  Sam is one of my favorite GoT characters and I’m always so pleased when he is featured.

Mini print two featured a quote from Hamilton, with the color scheme inspired by their costumes, which reads “There’s a million things I haven’t done.  Just you wait.”  I have listened to the soundtrack of Hamilton and fallen quickly in love with it so I’m really excited to have this apart of the box!

The backside of that mini print includes the next fandom, which is Sherlock!  This quote is incredibly long so I won’t be typing the whole thing out but it is a beautiful tribute to Moriarty, one of our favorite villains.  This piece was designed by @itslauracrow who created this really fun and beautiful piece and you can see a close up of this piece here on Laura’s profile!

Two bookmarks were included this month which means four separate fandoms were featured on these!  The first was Marvel, featuring an Iron Man quote which reads “Let’s face it, this is not the worst thing you’ve caught me doing.”  The little ARC Reactors all over this piece made it tie into Iron Man just THAT much more!

The next one, inspired by Lilo & Stitch kept with the ‘theme’ of this bookmark which was rebellious characters.  This quote from Lilo, talking to Stitch, reads “This is your badness level.  It’s unusually high.”  This quote makes me giggle but the freaking background on this piece is just way too beautiful for words.

The second bookmark had the front side inspired by Pride & Prejudice which was designed by @herbookishthings who created this stunning quote, spoken by Mary Bennet.  This one reads “I should infinitely prefer a book.”  Hello – perfect bookmark material and the color scheme is gorgeous.

The final side of the bookmark was designed by @sorryforwastingpaint who created a beautiful design inspired by a Hobbit quote which reads “The world is not in your books and maps.  It’s out there.”  This design was stunning and I was really pleased with how it came out!

Fat bookmarks are probably my least favorite item that Nerdy Post occasionally includes, simply because of their size.  They’re too big to be used a bookmark but too small for a suitable frame.  I’ll figure out something to do with them but they’re just an awkward size.  Always gorgeous, but just sizing is weird.

That said, this month’s fat bookmark featured Doctor Who on the front with the quote “Chin up, shoulders back, let’s see what we’re made of, you and I.”  This quote from the 12th Doctor is so fitting and this color scheme is spot on.  Absolutely love this!

The other side is a tribute to our favorite Star Wars ladies, designed by @inkandwonder.designs – this features stormtrooper Leia with a quote along the bottom from Anakin’s mom which reads “Now be brave and don’t look back.”  I think this side is so beautiful, it’s going to be really really tough figuring out which side to display.

The sticker this month was inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, featuring an Aslan quote which reads “Courage, Dear Heart”  This was another one that took me a minute to figure out how to read it but I love the design of this.

For it being a new fandom, Hawkins got a shoutout with a Stranger Things coaster!  Shaped like a waffle, woven into the syrup traps are the words “Friends don’t lie.” How much more perfect could this get?!

@nerdwicks created a really cool wax melt called Salt and Burn which wasn’t an artsy thing but holy cow do these smell amazing.  In the shape of the anti-possession symbol, these are definitely going to be burned soon!

Another unique item to this months box was an adorable Harry Potter (come on, they can’t leave him out) bracelet.  This is totally unique because though it looks like a hairtie, it’s actually a super soft bracelet made out of custom fabric designed by Nerdy Post!  It’s so wonderful and I basically never take it off.

FINALLY (So many items this month – it’s amazing!) there is the color-in post card as always, which featured the names of all the different fandoms that were included in this months box.  Such a great way to include them all!

This was an absolutely stellar box and I cannot believe how much they packed into their box!  As always, I’m truly looking forward to next month’s package!
