15 Years Later – In Memory of 9/11.

When 9/11 happened, I was six years old.  I was in my third week as a second grader and that is about all I remember regarding my life at that time.  I remember I got to leave school early.  I remember my mom wouldn’t let me turn on the TV.  I remember everyone whispering around me and my younger brother.

But I don’t remember IT.  It being the thing everyone was trying to keep hidden from us.  We weren’t allowed to know and the adults in our lives tried to preserve our innocence a little longer before they told us a few times, trying to keep us from fearing everything but still trying to get us to understand just how serious this was.

NaNoWriMo 2015

I am so excited to be participating in NaNoWriMo this year, for the first time in over 4 years.  The last time I attempted this challenge, I was a sophomore in high school – a mere 16-years-old, facing the book writing world with the thought that I would publish my first book by the time I turned 18.

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen and I am nearing 4 years past my original goal of 18 and published.  I am excited, however, for the time I had away from the writing field for me to really realize how much the whole community meant to me.

Break An Arm

I’m a messy person.

I’m not good at making choices that will benefit my future, much less choices that will benefit me now.  But I am really good at convincing myself that the choices I’m making are the right ones at that moment.  

If I were on a debate team, I’m confident my side would win simply because when I tell myself something is the right idea, there is nothing I can do or say to talk myself out of it.  It’s the best option.
